#$%@&!! I keep thinking about posting these two crude pics and can't sleep, so here goes.

You're looking at three layers of glass, each slightly larger than the previous. (according to GEOO's lamination theory)
I yanked the drywall screws and formica which acted as a "mold" for the exterior prior to laying up the last two layers. The screws were in the way....

Next is to scuff the surfaces in prep. for a couple layers of mat extending from top to bottom, and stringer to stringer. Then laminating a combination of mat and synthetic board which will form the "transom." Once that's done, I get to send specs for the stand-off box :D

Hope you enjoy the pics. (although they're kinda boring...)

ok, dont make fun of me.

how do you get the top of the boat off?
Is it fiberglassed in at all or is it just screwed in?

Broque, check out Gene Drago's boat in the registry. It has a great detailed account of how to remove the deck. There are screws under your rubrail.
Take care my American brothers.

Skyblue,
My deck was through bolted most of the way around. There was also about 4 glass tabs bonded to the deck and sides. I ended up literally ripping the rubrail off and taking the old DeWalt grinder to most of the screws as they were embedded in the glass and virtually impossible to get at. Those f'ing screws in the bow were the worst. Talk about closter phobia...

I used two come along's and a chain hoist mounted to the rafters in the garage to lift her off.

Hey Skyblu, On my '66-18' the deck was screwed on thru the rubrail and then underneath it. It was also glassed to the stringers under the interior area and the front of the waterski tray is also attached. You might also want to add some support from the motor compartment up onto the bow as these areas have no support once the deck is removed from the hull. Good luck.
