Ok. just completed my MBA so (maybe) I will have some time to finish this project. To remind some and to let others in, this is a 1983 18 classic. I was running 68mph with Volvo 280 drive and mild 350 chevy. After overheating from sucking in some sand, I rebuilt the motor, took out the drive, built a new transom and stringers and just installed a Bravo 1 at 16" x-dim (stock is 14.5).

Here are some pics, I'll post more as I get going. Yes, that is not the stock strength stringers. Also have Gil solid motor mount for the engine (still plan on dropping in a 502 one day).

Looks great!

Don't you love working down in there, especially in the middle of the summer?

yes - VERY HOT. Work 5 minutes, 2 coronas in the hammock, dip in the pool, another corona, then 5 minutes working again....

Kent looks great, congrats on the MBA, alot of work  ...ask Reddog or RickR on the Big Block before you spring for one, I've heard the added weight should be considered on an 18', although I think the Scorpion 377 would be the right weight and Hp with reliability? wink Who knows, guess it depends on what you're after...looks great though, you going to Eufula?...Doc

Congrats on the degree. I like the color that you painted the motor, it looks like a strong runner. The engine compartment looks great wish mine was as white as that.
