I own an 88 Donzi Z-25. It has excessive steering slop (left to right). The arm that controls the steering (through the hull)appears to have excessive play where it enters the large ring shaped part of the outdrive that allows the drive to pivot left to right and up and down. The hole it fits into appears to be worn. Is there a quick fix? Can a plate be made for this? Does that whole housing need to be fixed/replaced?

This slop makes slow speed manouvering difficult and high speed sudden slow downs uncomfortable.

Any info on this would be appreciated.
Thanks.

A loose steering arm needs to fixed immediatly  Merc makes a repair kit for the Alpha but from what I understand it's a big job.
