In the automotive world GT often stood for Grande Touring. In reference to our boats what does GT stand for? I have never heard it mentioned or referred to.

Grande Tourissimo sounds more continental. The Porsches and Ferrari's are GT's. They will all get you there in great sporty style.

Rick,
I did a search on Altavista to find the correct spelling. My speeling is horable if I don't use spell check in MS Word first before I post anything. biggrin.gif

You did mean the 62-63 FERRARI 250 GTO, not that overweight box of chrome that Pontiac put out? GTO does stand for Gran Turissimo Omologato. Omologato means Homologated or approved for racing. Ferrari only built 40, just enough so these cars so could qualify for racing. Well, actually Ferrari was supposed to build 100, but the rulemakers let that one slip. When Pontiac came out with that overweight box in 1964, Enzo Ferrari was outraged that Pontiac stole his moniker. From that time on, none of his factory teams ever appeared where GM was showing a Pontiac GTO. Alot of the mags did some awesome comparison articles between the two vehicles. All in all they both are pretty cool machines... very different... but very cool!

I'm giggling madly.

Actually, I currently manipulate manure and boss around ponies to keep a roof over my head. When I sold cars, I spread manure just like now, it just didn't smell quite the same.
