Can't speak to this particular boat but a friend of mine had what I believe was a 24 Cigarette from the 70s that had awood deck laminated on top of the fiberglass deck. The deck and the engine hatches looked like the deck of a mahoganey speedster. I have an old magazine at the cottage with an article and pics of that Cigarette but I won't be there til April/May and I'll post those then.

The really early 27's had plywood. Later, they had fiberglass with wood grain paper behind clear gelcoat. I was next door at Donzi when this happened. The idea came from the access hatch in the Magnum Missile, which was used to bond the hull/deck joint while both pieces were still in the mold. Later, I was chief engineer there from 77 thru 80.

info,info,info...an ocean of info! Thanks again.

I keep looking at all these pic's now and wonder if there are other successors based on hulls cut at the line that travels just below the sheer?...as in the info I got from you on the Cary's/28 Cig. Very interesting stuff.
