View Full Version : Outstandingly good news...
My insurance company is covering the damage to my engine! I have learned a lot about engines in the last several months, and hope to re-build a strong, durable 302 with good mid-range torque. Top end is not extremely important to me. Thanks to all the guys who have ofered their advice so far...I'll keep you posted with the details as I know them.
P.S. What do you think, roller or flat tappet cam?
Congrats on your insurance victory ! Keep us posted on the re-build.

i'd stay the flat tappet route tony. unless you buy a late model roller motor or something... but in all reality most of us don't turn enough rpm or run steep enough ramp angles to really need a roller cam and the SBF doesn't have much of an issue with oiling the top end of the motor... besides.. there are a lot more options for flat tappet camshafts than there are rollers for the SBF... just my opinion though...
