Yes, I had one fried piston. Maybe due to the blown head gasket, or......this is what I found after tearing the engine apart,
1) 1 bent intake valve
2) 1 slightly bent exh. valve
3) blown head gasket
4) 1 "ate up" piston and rings
5) All in the #4 cylinder

So, I sent everything to the machine shop to be transformed into a 383 with Dart or Brodix aluminum heads.....it never ends.

No, you don't owe me an impeller....I'm telling you, that things tough. I've replaced it once in 11 years and it still looks like new.

What pistons did you use?
Were they forged?

They were the TRW Forged, .030 over, flat top, p/n L2256.

I wonder if it was running lean? Weren't you having some carb problems.
