How old is my block?

I'm told that my 302 Ford has the following numbers:

Serial # BB150480
Casting # EOAED3C12

Can anyone tell me how old my block is? I glean from earlier discussions that certain blocks had certain percentages of certain advantageous materials, but that is about all I know.

Tony,

Ford part numbers are coded for decade & year:

B: 1950's
C: 1960's
D: 1970's
E: 1980's
F: 1990's

Then the second digit is the year of production.

0: 1980
1: 1981

etc... you get the picture.

Your block is a 1980 production 5.0 (302) block. I don't think there is anything particularly special about it.
