does anyone have any information on the Merlin 540 cubic motors from world products. i am currently running OMC 454HO and they are getting tired. I have looked into the 540s but not sure if they are good for marine use? thanks

Did You check out Marine Engines at www.1800runsnew.com. (http://www.1800runsnew.com.) They have a large selection of Brand New GM Marine Base Engines. I bought a Gen 6 454 from them last year with a 1 yr manufacturers warranty. They sell 454's, 454 HO's, 502HO's 435hp / 502hp,and a 540 "ATTACK DOG" @ 565hp. They are base engines or service base engines straight from GM. They will ship to your front door. You won't beleive the prices. I didn't after looking for a week.

The block is stout and a nice durable piece . the question is, can you do the engine work. If you have someone else do it it will cost you. They also do complete engines. If I were togo 540 I wuld use that one ora super stock block. these are stronger. Besides I would use different rods tan the stock 540 has.
