If you have read the "Other Boat Post section" I have been updating some info on a boat a 25 Monza that now is refuted to have been one of Elvis's boats. Its a 1972 custom built job with a glass hull and a custom strip plank top. My qyestion is did Elvis ever own a Monza? I am not even sure not being a fan if he was alive in 72.

MOP:

I don't know if he was a boater, but he didn't die untill 1977, but some say his music career died sometime in the 60's. :p

I did find one article about a larger fishing boat he owned, so may be he did have a little one too. Hoping Monza Marine answers my mail. My eyes are tied there must be a thousand Elvis sites!

Tomahawk! Had a very nice chat with Richie, he doubts very much that Elvis owned a Monza. He did think it would have been a super promo thing. Glad I spoke to him he is looking for a dealer on LI, got a package coming will speak to the powers that be. Would be nice to handle another quality line. I hope to pick up photos in the AM and get them posted, I told Richie I would drop an E-Mail so he could ID the boat. Thanks again for the tip to call him, he is so darn nice I may just call to chat now and then.

Did Richie Powers build the early 70's MONZA 19 ? Did he pass away or can anyone supply additional MONZA info ? According to Blue Book MONZA built 19,19 tunnels and 19 deep V's in 71 - 74. No Production 75 to 78. Then the new style center consoles. New owner (2 yrs ago) of MONZA boats has no clue about the 70's boats according to people I spoke with at the plant. I have also heard Elkind and Schoell in reference to MONZA's. Never a 24,25or 26 listed in blue book. The 19 tunnel would be interesting !

Phil,
I realize your post is a 1/2 yr old but I just noticed it because of the new post above, so add this to the things Elvis owned. :bonk:

Shown here he owned a Glastron.

If that 26 monza is near Michigan i would be willing to bet that is my dads old 1972 26 that my brother popped a mold off the hull in 1980.He sold the hull without a deck because the original deck was modified and made into a plug for the new bnoat being buiklt from the mold.

Does anyone have a pic of this Elvis boat?

I was POSITIVE I saw Elvis in a pink X18 on Saturday cruising around the Gulf Islands with a blue X18 being driven by a guy with long blonde hair......
