OMC 350 changing point yo CDI

Did somebody have change is old point system to CDI system ? Is it a good idea to change for electronic system ? My engine is a GMC 1988 with OMC base

electronic ignitions are probably the best, easy to hook up no fuss.
they cost more though.

Don't wast your time. there will be no preformance gain at all. I have done this many times. If electronics go bad you get towed. If points get dirty you clean them and drive home. The only reason my big boat has a MSD id because I had one and it didnot have a home.
