Does anybody know where I can get a new filter (cartrage/element) for this?

It is a Perko fuel filter/water seperator in my '66 18'.

Thanks,
Frank
Can't avoid the Holley on my bench any longer. eek!

Frank,
I'm running in to the same problem. I've checked the Perko website, but it is no help. Check Ebay. Every once in awhile, there is something there.

A thousand thanks Mr. Poodle! I have recently discovered that NAPA has or can get just about anything marine, if you can figure out what you need.

Trash it and get a "Racor" unit -

Done that can't beat the Racor. Good advice!

My local (non NAPA) parts guy crossed it to a WIX 33271 which is not even close. Oh well...

The Holley is done, but still on the bench.

Can you post the demensions, was wondering if you could use one of the skinny racor elements with a spring like some other similar app's I've seen.

I will pull it out tomorrow but the 1-3/4 x 1-3/4 sounds right. The WIX 33271 was a metal can with a paper element. The one I (we?) need is made like a sintered bronze filter but the material is almost like a rigid foam but much harder. It feels like if you dropped it it would shatter. I will post photos tomorrow.

To the suggestion of replacement: I am trying to stay as original as practical. If this stuff is still servicable after 37 years I'm not sure we need to make it better.

Thanks for all the effort.
Frank
Fear no Holley.

I have'nt fooled with one of these in years, but I think there is was a way to fit a small paper element with a spring under it.

Brandy new/old ones below.

The element is 1-3/4 OD, 1-3/8 ID, and 1-3/4 long as MP said. Maybe my parts guy messed up?

The innards:

Many thanks (as usual)

What about the 1-3/4 x 1-3/4 element you mentioned before? Do they exist? Do you know a number for those? The parts guys around here are not very creative. If it's the lack of a hole in the bottom, I've got drills...

The Holley is sitting happily on it's throne, appears liquid-tite and eager to take that first breath of cool, clear Vermont air. :)

Back out to the garage...

West Marine 224274 = Perko 324001ELM. Most likely the part in question. It appears to be a special order and since I've been waiting almost 4 weeks for a zinc anode special ordered from my local WM I will continue to search. It looks like a WIX 33039 might be adaptable to the housing. I'll try to pick one tomorrow.

Thanks again...
Frank
The Holley looks thirsty... eek!

Just for the record the Perko 324001ELM element is the correct one for the unit with 1/4" NPT ports. Was able to get one today at an old boat yard nearby. :) Thanks again for all the help.

On the endless quest to identify old parts.
Next up: outdrive bushings.

MadPoodle, you're incredible. Is there anything you don't know about boats?

Yesterday's coffee(s) must have really kicked in for you to have dredged this up. eek!

Thanks again for all...
Frank
I think the Holley may need some deep breathing excercise tonight. :D
