When replacing bilge blower hose don't tighten down on the hose clamp too much. If you do, you'll find that the blower housing will distort enough to cause the fan to bind and not spin. Oh, and you won't find out until you get to the launch ramp.
And you ask, "how does he know this?"

And don't connect the hoses like this:

Yes.....I've fixed it since i took this pic wink
I just replaced my hoses and clamped them as usual, one of the guys asked why I clamped them. He went on to say I should have used heavy wire ties your not holding much. I guess that will work the blowers have the knobs you have to push the hose over, maybe next time.

Wish I had thought of the wire ties - If I replace the stainless clamps with wire ties it must be at least a 200% weight savings - not to mention 1 less nut driver dropped into the bilge. :p
You must have abused the nut driver! Rumor has it that it tried to commit suicide and now is hiding out in the bilge. As to the weight reduction should be good for at least 10 miles an hour.

Mr. Poodle,
If you aren't using a NEMA VII blower motor, all the foam in the world isn't going to do you any good!
Rick wink wink
Next thing you'll tell me is that your boat isn't equipped with a Radon gas detector! eek!

Hey Poodle, Good point Foam it in! :p
But on a serious thought you sparked an idea, how about using an RTV silicon adheasive? Or even pvc pipe cement. That will give you a permanent hold forever! eek! biggrin.
But heck use the hose clamp and tighten it like a valve cover bolt, and not like a main Bearing cap bolt and it will be just fine. With-out any distortion. :)

Desecration is the better part of distortion.
eek! eek!
