The only 1/8 pipe temp sender that I have run into is in the temp gauge kit for OMC outboards, it is a scaling sender whould have to check ohms rating. I'll see if I can find out today.

Dwight has VDO gauges and obtained a 1/8 NPT temp sending unit we think that wasn't compatible with his gauge and was reading higher than normal expected temps. We found a VDO brand 1/8 NPT sending unit and will see if this solves his problem without drilling and tapping anymore.

Tapped a new 1/8 hole w/ out messing it up...thanx to Greg K's help. Found a 1/8 VDO water temp sending unit at Summit Racing on-line.
6.99 plus shipping @..7.00 go figure!! so next week we'll find out if she works. The current gauge reads to high like 200 deg but it works!
Had to disconnect the high temp alarm till the new sender gets here. Oil psi and water temp are the only 2 gauges I REALLY trust when working correctly. :D Flying aircraft... those temp gauges kinda stick in my mind like it or not!! eek! More to follow wink

FYI - don't use teflon tape or any kind of sealent when installing the new sensor. It requires a good ground to function right.
