Brownie et al,

Seeing the old pictures got me thinking about where the old raceboats have gone. You have said before that 008 sank but what about the other boats. I don't have my King of Thunderboat Row with me but how about we put together a list and try to piece together what became of all the boats.

What about:
007
008 - still underwater?
Broad Jumper
Blue Devil - We know the Weavers have that
Old Yellar
The first race hornet
The hornet with 3 outboards

What else?

Chris

Broad Jumper is in a museum somewhere around you. 008 didn't sink, I was fatally damaged. The last time I saw it, it was pulling crawfish traps in the keys. Don't know where the heck the rest of them are.

In the keys pulling crawfish traps? That is a very undignified end for a beautiful and significant boat. When and where? Somebody should find and save that boat.

I have the 1967 "Maltese Magnum". Didn't know the boats history untill after cutting off the old deck to make a pleasure boat out of it.
You can see article and photos under "Other Performance boats" on this site-going back to April. I'll post more info when I have time.
