Looks like a 1974 Hornet, The 454/330hp that usally came with that boat ran her around 66 mph. Great running boats, Best of luck with her and yes she is definetly worth the money.

hornet, what year don't know!
Gary if you feel it 's not worth 300 bucks I'll give ya 500 bucks for it! ;)
It is worth every penny of 300 and you have an uncommon example of a true classic donzi there, my best wishes refurb her you won't be sorry with your setup should run high 60's
restore it, love it , and enjoy it!

According to the serial number of the boat,
it is a 1977.

Looks like a bucket seat hornet. the Volvo with a 454 /330hp 60 mph max if it has a good one. Engine is of old restrictive ovel ports, lots of bottom end but inemic on the top. nice riding boat much like the 20 foot Cigarette.

HP-500 I defer to your superior knowledge, So let us in on the secret code. I was assuming the first two digits are lenght. The Hornet II was a twenty footer. And as far as I know started in 77. I always get confused on the Maufacturing date and Model year. Do they all have that little lip on the topsides - So best guess now is a first year Hornet II. thank's but I am not nearly as up to speed on
those models as many people on this site!
But I can tell you that most all boat "ID"
numbers on Donzi's end with the last
digit of the year made.....that one
by the number could be a 67...or a 77.....
now day's the last two digits are the year
made....thus if ending in 99 it's a 1999
00 = 2000......ect.
Donzi started on the last two system
around 1978 or so...but some models did vary
from that till 1982........
any way that is a cool boat and a total steal!

More Boat Ids.
This Boat (http://www.donzi.net/photos/osaffell573.jpg) was a real mystery and I thought it was an early real GT 21 (http://www.donzi.net/photos/osaffell021.jpg) till I bought one. Its now obviously a GT clone called a Monzi- as Chris tryed to tell me. The main difference is the Strake to Chine Pattern. NO Donzi brings the strake all the way to the chine at the bow, its a dead give away.
Here's a boat I need help on. All the ad said was that it was a Donzi Model 19. (http://www.donzi.net/photos/osaffell575.jpg) Problem is, there's no such thing as a Model 19 - so I'm thinking it is a LXR 192. Its the only pic I have of this model so I'd like a confirmation.
