Last night I was puting my engine compartment back together after a new paint job.I decided to take a peek in the trim pump reservoir for the out drive and was I suprised. The fluid was milky looking, this of course raised a red flag. I believe the system is tight with no leaks in or out. I have not gained or lost any fluid in the past year.
So my questions are this; 1. Will hydraulic fluid break down and get milky like gear lube when water is introduced. 2. Could the fluid break down by itself. 3. Is there a provision to bleed the system and start fresh (it's an Alpha Gen II).

Thanks
Sam

The old books say 10/30, but my old Dynasty(1987) had ATF and my trs has 10/30 in it. In fact my old trs 330 book says 20wt. My Volvo 290 says ATF or 10w/30w. suggedtion is use whats already in it.
