Corsa Mufflered Cans, internal picture

Many have spoke of the Corsa Mufflered cans that come on Donzi's (like mine), many claim they are not restrictive, some say they are etc.
Here is a photo from the inside looking out (aft), one big plate that water trickles around.
No need for an internal flapper, obviously, not much could get in, or out!
Just FYI, I forgot I took this picture and ran across it today.
IMHO they restrict, photo of my new identical ones, unmufflered, installed, soon, if it ever warms up here!

These cans are pretty big, but match originals on the 26, on the 22 they were 5" (I think) vice 7".

And FYI, on a smaller boat these would not be my choice, I would go for the longer, smaller diameter, gutted straight tubes. Again, I just wanted a cosmetic replacement for the mufflered tip.

Actually on Corsa muffled tips there are two plates that are restrictive. One is the inside plate shown in Bryans picture. Then there is another plate that water / exhaust must manuver around and that is in the outlet area of the tip just inside the opening.

Corsa muffled tips are restrictive! There are 3 PQ's down here virtually identical. 2 have gutted Corsa tips and one has muffled. The 2 w/ gutted tips are about 2 - 3mph faster on a given day than the one w/ mufflers.

Also a few years back, boating magazine did a test of (on same boat) different muffler systems. The Corsa was slowest and down 200 RPM if memory serves me right.

All Corsa gutted tips are not the same either. My Corsa gutted tips had 2 rings inside, resticting the opening to 3". Bryans getted tips are wide open. I can't wait to hear how it sounds. Sould be sweet, esp. with that stainless marine exhaust.

Bill, thanks for the data, a couple more hundred RPM's would be nice to combine with the new prop.
We'll see soon enough.
