I just bought my first Donzi, a '93 classic 18, went for a ski and found the wake to be considerable. Question: when slalom skiing, what position should the trim tabs and engine tilt be in to provide the SMALLEST possible wake once the skiier is up.

try these.
1. a little longer rope
2. tuck the drive in all the way
3. start with tabs all the way up and slowly
pull the nose down.
4. try a wake board

Congatulations on the new boat! I spent many hours skiing behind our family 18. It dosn't have tabs but keep them up or flat for minimum wake. I agree with Matt that a longer rope may help. With Dad's boat there is a "sweet spot". Just keep loose when you hit that wake, bend your knees and go for it! You will become a much better skiier if you stick with it.
Have fun!
