I am having problems receiving mail from you folks. I am missing emails because they are being buried under hundreds of JUNK emails. I have people that are get pissed at me because they think I am ignoring them. I got to an email today that was sent to me on the 11th of this month! Very frustrating....

SOLUTION:
Any email sent to my scot@donzi.net account needs to have Donzi in the subject. All others will be deleted.

Please help me get the word out to everyone.

In response to the spam issue, Hotmail has limited outgoing emails to 100 a day. As soon as that happened, the spam emails I got from hotmail accounts was dropped easily by less than half. But when that happened, my spam emails from Yahoo accounts more than doubled to make up for it. If yahoo would limit outgoing emails to 100 a day also, I would bet that spam emails would be reduced a lot.

MOP,

The LAST thing you should do is reply to a spam email or click the "remove" link. This is a scam within the spam. When you reply or use the "remove" link. You are verifying that your email address is VALID. This makes your email address even MORE valuable and will cause you to get spammed harder than ever.

I will be changing my email address within the next day or two for this same reason, junk email! Another major reason people are getting more junk email is because of the "chain letter" email messages. You know the ones where someone's brother, cousin or nephew got $5000 from Bill Gates because he sent this email message to ten friends. Those are started by spammers to verify email addresses. Immediately delete any of those and you may want to tell those people to take you out of their address book.

I have a question to those of you who are more computer literate. What is the best way to stop the junk email, or at least slow it. I get about thirty junk emails a day at least for the business. Please help.

Ranman is right I used to use the do not send portion to "take me off the list". I found myself getting spamed even harder. eek! For the last year I have been using the block sender on my system, It seems to help, at least from getting anymore from the same address.

Just wondering, how much time it loss in America due to SPAM e-mails?

Jake, you only get thirty a day? I wish it were on thirty spams a day in my mail box. Also, I second what's been said more than once here, don't ever click on their "take me off" link. Again, all that is verification of a good email address.

To get no spam, get a new email address and don't give it to anyone and don't use it in any on-line information requests. Best to have a few email addresses, some private some public. Remember, spammers will go anywhere they can to collect email address, including right here on donzi.net. Also Jake, there are some anti-spam packages that suppose to be fairly good that work with email packages like Outlook, Outlook Express, and the like, but I haven't tried one yet.

BTW Tommy, I got no less than three spams today from hotmail.com addresses.

Its funny, everyday, I open my e-mail and find out, that:
I need viagra,
I need to consolidate my debts.
I need to loose weight.
I need to find financial independence by selling stuff on Ebay.

I'm beginning to think that, Yes. It could be bigger, I could be slimmer, richer and more fically responsible. NNNNNNNNAAAAAAHHHHH!!!! :D
