A group of us went out yesterday on a cruise on krakmeup's 40 foot SeaRay. We headed out into Galveston Bay to Redfish Island.

The passenger manifest was as follows:

Jim and Marie Guidry(JimG and Marie)
Steve Dold (Riverrat)
Capt. Keith and Rae Krieder (Krakmeup and RAE)
Scot the Harbotmaster

And, .... did you have fun? No pics? No stories? Make something up if you have to, but tell us how the day was for everyone.

We had a great time! Harbormaster and Riverrat kept us quite entertained with with their heroic tales of wake-jumping and bow-stuffing! OK, our wives are SCARED now! eek!

We finally got to see the Scot's boat. Wow, what a beauty! It'll take him a while to scrub the drool off! I had to wrench my baby out of the seat... :)

Weather was PERFECT! (Could've been a little warmer, the girls had WAY too many clothes on!) We journied to Redfish Island at a blistering 15 knots, explored a bit, then headed home before the tide ran out.

It was great to get out on the water! M/V Mental Floss performed flawlessly as usual, and the company was great.

JimG cool!

Where are the pics, Scot?

We did have a great time! We enjoyed meeting both Scot and Steve.
As for stories.....well, no one fell off the boat so that was pretty good! We saw about 6 or so white pelicans skimming along the surface of the water - those are always cool to see.
I guess to answer JimG the guys had on too many clothes also!!!! wink

Donzi (wannabe) Rae

A great trip, if only for a short spin! The water was low so we did churn up some mud here and there. Scot and Steve had awesome stories to share (I liked the idea of getting your passenger's elbows wet on a a hard turn in the Donzi) and it was great to actually see a Donzi (thanks Scot! Nice 18!) while we watch for one to buy. Then it will be regular 'barge' outings with the Donzi in tow. I see Rae is out there now, so welcome aboard, darlin'!

Fire up those 18's!! I only draw 36" so I know you can get those Donzi's out there!! Winds are turning to the south, our winter will very soon be in the rearview (sorry to those north of Dallas!!), and the blender will be the coldest spot on the water! Let's go!! Maybe we can begin the first annual Redfish Run!

I go out of town for a couple of weeks and miss all the fun.

Actually, South Louisiana at too bad. Food is great, and I'm working my way into crewing for a 50' Viking Sport Fisher this summer. I've set up for two tourneys already.

Anyway, I'll be back this weekend, I'm heading to the on the water boat shop to test drive a baja 340 Sportfish...I know, I Know, I just want to check it out, and its a free ride to burn somebody elses fuel.

Drop me a line for the next outing. I'm always looking for a reason to get The Revenge down to Kemah.

Jefe: Sorry we missed you! The crew work on the 50' is just what I'd like to get into, at least part time. I'm hold a 100T Master Captain's license, and am trying to break into deliveries, sea trials, and orientations for larger boats (recently spent some time behind the wheel on the Clear Lake dinner cruise boat, and was set to deliver a 48' motor yacht to Ft Meyers but it fell thru at the last minute).

Let me know if you need extra crew some time - I'm getting to know the local dealers and contacts in the Kemah area.

We'll have to get you out for the next run, which will be very soon no doubt (JimG is soon taking delivery on his DOnzi, and the south winds will soon be re-filling the lake!) - where in Houston area are you?

Keith - I'm happy to go fishing anytime. This 50 Viking is working out of Grand Isle LA.

I work down here allot and have several fishing buddies. These Cajuns KNOW fishing.

I'll be headed back to TX in the morning. We're up in Cypress, Hell-and-gone from the Saltwater, but it is where the work is, so.

JEFE: Cool, maybe we can soo get up your way and you can show us around the lakes up there too!

Haven't done the fishing scene over ther in LA, but hear its great. Last trip was Cabo, which was great - took Marlin, Sail, Wahoo, Dorado, and all before noon!! Ready to get back to that again.

Definetly want to tag up with you this season - we'll be on the forum as regulars!
