I may need to replace a lower unit due to damage sustained from submerged object. I have an 2003 Bravo 1 drive and the new lower unit is quite expensive. I know nothing about the imco units except the little I have read on this site. How are they as far as reliabialty and durability. Should I stay with OEM lower unit or should I opt for an imco model. Pricing and where to buy would be helpfull. Thanks

There have been alot of them installed here. most people brake the Bravos due to too much horsepower. When they are replaced with the inco stuff with better gears and shafts they lastand arre stronger. Realize you can buy just the shortie and put your geares in it. The new complete Imco lower is quite a bit stronger than the bravo. If you add the upper you are head and sholders stronger.
