Hi everyone:

Great times here in MS, put over 100 miles on our 18 today! My eyes are still watering, and was wanted to ask the registry; Although my pilots Ray Bans, now B @ L, offer great uv protection along with a changeable gray lenses, they really do not solve the eye watering problem we experience over 35-45 knots.

We really dont want to go to "goggles", so everyone please list their "favorite Donzi Shades", make, model, possible sources etc. Many thanks to all - Need 4 pairs yesterday.

Have fun
Randy

Have any of you tried the Swiss Army mountain sun glasses with the soft leather sides. They are real dark for snow skiing and work amazingly well. I have a pair, been over 80 on bike no tears. CON! They cut down on peripheral vision that takes a bit of getting used to.

Have a pair of Black Oakley Minutes, The specialty lenses (were they iridium?) 90$ when I bought them 2 years ago and the cheapest place I found them at was www.swell.com (http://www.swell.com) They solve the watering problem.

I just went for some Nike wrap around plastic glasses (with Prescription) because I felt kind of funny driving around in my SKi Goggles -

I had the SAME problem...started off with Oakley M-Frames, but the frames broke rather quickly. So I went to WAL-MART and found some DAMN NICE plastic jobs with that glare-proof (polarized) coating on the lenses...$20 each. I bought three pairs that day, all they had. They are also very tight, so the wind does not blow them off at 60 mph while you turn around to look at your ROOSTER TAIL! I would be HAPPY to get you some, if you cannot find any.

One good thing...I have had these same glasses for about a year now, and if they break...TAKE THEM BACK to Wal-Mart...they take ANYTHING back! Even if they DON'T, just throw them away and buy new ones. Cheap fix for $20 apiece!

Cheers,
George

I got some Costa Del Mar(Wave 400) when we were in Sarasota. A local person recommended them to me. I thought it was cool that they were made in Florida. The glasses are light, polarized, fit tight to your face and came in blue to match my boat. :D

Try some Maui Jim's, Volcano series...

I'm a sunglass freak, and I have very sensitive eyes, I've tried them all it seems, speed is a non issue, I have been WELL over 100mph on my motorcycles with them on...

I SWEAR by them, I refuse to wear anything else, as long as I can still buy these.

I take ZZtop's advice, buy yourself some cheap sunglasses, with the glass so dark they wouldn't even know your name

I've NEVER spent $300 for a pair, and don't know anybody that has either...

granted, they aren't cheap, but then again if you value your eyes, who cares what they cost?

if your eyes are only worth $10, then by all means, spend $10..

From Guard Dogs, anybody try the Bones or Purebreds? (http://guard-dogs.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=GD&Product_Code=Bones)
They are RX-able, which of course us older guys need!

J, very good point! I am expressing my apology to you and the other members on this one. I am just a tight-ass, I guess. But you ARE right...I AM worth it! HAHAHA!!!

How do you keep your specs from sinking, in the event they DO come off? I think mine would FLOAT, since they are plastic and all. Aren't the Maui Jims metal and glass? High quality....

For dusk/night applications, a pair of industrial/construction safety glasses works great. Clear, large, wrap-around lenses and they are cheap.

Talk about floating! I had a super expensive pair of Serengeties, I had a safety strap(can't remember the name) but it was made of wet suit material. The serengeties were metal with glass lens preety heavy that strap held them just at surface level, I was glad I bought the light blue colored strap I may not have seen a darker color.
