View Full Version : Flame Arrestors
I have read some claims regarding flame arrestors delivering measurable performance improvements. If any of you have had experience in this area I would love to hear your story.

This is only true if the stock one is too small. A 2X6 is too small for a V8 especially if it is the lovered type.At the same time a 3X12 is no better than a 3X10. Just get the K&N and be done with it.

Randy,I have the stock 2x6 on my 350, what's so special about the K&N. I hear an awful lot about this brand.

Sam - take a look at their web site www.knfilters.com (http://www.knfilters.com) While I don't know the answer to your question, there is some info on their site. Like you, I've heard a lot of performance machines use K&N. I have a 3X14 on my Donzi carbureted motor.

Sam,
Check this thread out. Also, if you want to know HP gains by using the K&N Filter, contact Byron Scholle in Cincinnati. He has tested the filters while running engines on a dyno and could be able to tell you the gains or no gains in performance.
