I remember a while back you inquiring about the weight of the 16, as was I. The original advertisements list the gross weight at 1500, but current Donzi weight is close to 2500. I have in my possesion 3 Donzi brochures: 16 Classic (1995) 30th Anniversary (1995) and a 1992 "SWEET 16" Broshure. All 3 adds have the weight at 1845 and MAX HP listed at 205 (both 1995 adds).

Only the 1992 list all of the avail engines:
4.3 175 HP
5.0 185 HP
4.3 H.O. 205 HP :D

Assuming the 5.0 is the heaviest, I would suspect the 1845 is for the V6 models.

I have a 1994 4.3 HO, I'm convinced the weight is 1845lbs, given it was that in 1992(OMC) and 1995 (same merc engines).

I have no information to explain the Donzi specs for 2002.
From Donzimarine.com - Classic series:
16 2500 :(
18 2700
22 3400

I find it hard to beleive that a 18 weighs only 200 pounds more, perhaps the 16 weight is wrong.
Another theory, the 16 with a V8, trim tabs, windsheild and the newer styled upgraded interiors would add a few hundred pounds over the v6 no trim tabs (ok there not that heavy but I'm working this hard) sans windshield.

What I can verify is that from at least 1992-1995 the listed weight (most likely standard power - V6) is 1845.

Thanks Frank, I have since gotten a few E-Mails and found some other info. I am pretty sure my 302 is close to 2450. I have a buddie that has an aluminum Buick V8 that he says makes 300hp, he wants me to put it in the Donzi. He thinks that it will run like 350+hp due to the light weight. But so far I have been able to resist. Believe it or not I am so pleased with what I call the tractable power the 302 with the mild cam and two barrel has. I run through Shinnicock canal alot, this to alot of guys has no meaning. But to Long Isalnders they have either fear or respect for the whirl pools and extreme water speed. There are times I am turning 2600 RPM with a 23inch whell sitting almost still next to the concrete walls. This ia not calm lake stuff, I also love running in the ocean not like a racer but enjoying the fast elevator ride. Oh well enough rambling! Have a great day!

I like the 302both the Ford and Chevy. I am partial to the Ford. Anyway IF done correctly the V6 Buick can blow the socks of the 350. Remember the Roush motors and Nascar V6 I saw one in a Cobra replicar with 425HP and was very driavable like a 200hp car.
