I have a guy who emailed. asking the following Questions:
**********************************

I am currently looking for a power boat. I have found a 2000 Donzi 26 ZX with Less than 50 hrs. 454 385hp No salt water Many extras Vanguard trailer Coast guard documented Perfect condition, I know the owner.

Is 385 hp enough and will resale be ok in the future?
I am stuck between this and a Baja!
Could you please give me your estimation of the value of this Donzi boat? 55- 60K?
Thanks in advance for your help

**********************************

Anyone care to answer these questions?

The 26 ZX was voted the best power boat in its class in 1999. If you can get one for 55. Its not a bad deal. I travel on different roads though. A 24 Blackwidow at 20K is a better deal to me. And there's Z boats out there that you can pick up, really clean in the 30 range.

I just bought a 2001 with 4 hours on it and almost every goodie at a very good price, not far from what your talking....
The 2000 does not have the new standard option package and a few early 2001's do not also, so keep that in mind on price.
There is a 2001 Brand New in MD at Jackson marine, start price is 58K, no extras, but a year newer and I will bet a 6 pack you can walk out the door with it for low $$ 50's on a new trailer. It too is a 454 boat, standard graphic, purple and yellow.
If you shop hard enough you can easily get a 2001 for the same price, I know where every 26ZX is for sale in the US, you should have seen my phone bill. The few on boat trader have been there a long time and are over priced, owners are upside down in them.

A 454 26ZX Donzi will ride 5 times as good as a Baja 272, trust me on this one. My 502 is high 60's GPS and I would bet that 454 is only a couple mph slower.
HarborMaster please pass on my post, email address and phone number also, thank you.

Scot, Depending on the options over and above the 454 he should be good at 50,000 If he has custom paint scheme and options low 50s, I have seen 99 26 Zxs as low as 42,000.

Scott, Clearly Frank & Bryan would be the most in tune with this boat, email 'em. Also what's your turnaround time? If you're planning on buying any boat and than shortly there after resell it, I would probably sit tight! A Baja would be sacrilege! Also, for grins & general info. check out www.boats.com (http://www.boats.com) , some useful stuff? Good Luck! ;) ...Doc
