I'm not sure about a 2001, but I know of a 2002 with a 496 HO, Bravo drive, brand spankin' new for $48,500.
Check our boattraderonline.com and note the 22 Classic in Lake George, NY at ShoreLine Marine. Boat has been sold.

I bet the $48,500 is close to dealer cost. Shoreline noted they are no longer a Donzi dealer and were looking to clear out the inventory.

They may still be making some money on the boat. It's hard to say how much they really have invested in the boat.

I think if they want to sell the boat they will go 22% off list netting them 8% P&O on the sale, not just my opion, I had a local salesperson at the Boat Outlet, a Donzi dealer confirm that.
