MarkGT - Was your boat originally from Lake St.Clair? It sure looks familar.

Hay blackhawk, it looks like your engine hatch knob is in the unlatch position! You better climb back there and give it a twist before your engine hatch flys off. I'll hold your beer while you do it. :D

VOODOO
The former owner named Chris lived on 11 mile w/canal to lake St. Clare. I purchased the boat last July, it has a SBC & Arneson drive. The graphics I'm hoping to change to all red some day. Hopefully the boat doesn't have a bad rap with the unmistakable graphics!

Mark, No bad rap over here, just another cool boat that used to be on this lake, I was wondering what happened to that "Devil" I used to live just down the road from him and my friends brother lives right next door to Chris, anyway you really have a nice, unique, vintage Donzi, good luck with it.

Hey guy's I noticed that latch when he posted
the photos, I was afraid to say anything

Actually, the hatch is held down with velcro. The latch is much more aerodynamic in the "open" position. Good for at least .1 mph. :D

uh huh.......

well you guys didnt help me any, cause my hatch BLEW OFF TODAY at 50+mph
it was right after I was racing a scarab, I was pulling away from the scarab and I was staring at the boat. I noticed a roost starting to get bigger from the back(because he had trim) then he started to pull away from me DAMN TRIM!!!

so then I turned off waived goodbye, and proceeded to head towards the dutchmans.
all of a sudden I hear this loud BANG!!!!
I thought my engine blew, then I turned around and saw my beatiful engine.
I was like OH sh*&, then I thought oh well the hatch really didnt match the boat anyhow. but i turned around and looked for it.
Thank god that the previous owner fiberglassed in some wood to strenghthen the engine cover, because it was BARELEY floating on the surface of the bay.
I had the hatch tightened down but, everytime i head towards the dutchmans I make sure I am going as fast as possible so everyone drools when I cruise in at idle.
I guess the hatch came loose. thank god I found it!!!

I have new hinges thank god, but I need to get left hand hinges, I have right hand hinges and they dont fit right :(

oh well, at least all of you know to make sure your hatch is tightened down after what I just said!
I am sure that mine will betight from nowon, most of you might not as been as lucky as me, since there was wood fibeglassed into my cover!
take care all and batten down those hatches!!!

Hey Broque (no pun intended),
You give new meaning to the phrase "He blew your doors off". Sorry it happened to you. I hope it didn't screw up your boat too bad when it blew back. Good luck on the fix.

I had to rescue it like a lifegaurd, it wasnt even floating on the surface it was about an inch below the surface"floating". I still cant beleive it happened, im glad it didnt rip the hood or boat apart.
the hinges just SNAPPED like twigs!!

It scared the hell out of me, I thought I blew my engine sky high!!

that scarab showed me one thing.
I NEED TRIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a shame that they discontinued them too. Too bad that Merc wont come out with something like it that is more usable with an unmodified hull & X-dimension.
