15" ST 225 75 (D rated)
Max PSI cold 65

I have always maintained 60 cold, now cooler weather here in VA, I checked them all today and they each read identical to 50. I pumped them back to 60 PSI cold for my trip this evening to Fla.

So did I do what I should have?
Thanks
Bryan

Brian,
I just ran out and checked the sidewall specs on my trailer tires. I have the same brand and size tire, but mine are load range C, rather than your D. My sidewall clearly states 50 psi max cold. I have always maintained that pressure, and the wear on my tires is biased toward the outside edges. Different boat, C18, and only single axel trailer.
The reason I reply is that 65 psi seems very high, and contrary to all the advice I have read in magazines like Trailer Boating Magazine. What do your sidewalls say?

Thanks TANGO, my sidewalls say MAX 65PSI.
They are D rated.
I went with 60 PSI as I always do.
I was just curious about the ambient temp etc...
I am leaving shortly.
Thanks...
Bryan

This is a Jamie question LOL, how many degrees = a drop or raise in 1 psi?

Your running safe. Under no circumstances run lower than 55. They guage tires from cold to hot with a 3->6psi rise. In other words cold at 60 and hot at 63->66. The abient temp does have an effect, they are assumining your running in the same temp all the time. If your rise is greater then your presure is too low tire flex causes heat build up. iggest cause of tire failure that is not punture related is low tire pressure. Have a safe trip!!!

:D Ask Dwight(Air 22) about proper air infation while driving Mach 10? :p I think he now has a frequent purchaser card from all of the tire stores between D.C. and Sarsota! ...Doc

YES..TIRE PSI IS VERY IMPORTANT. AS DR. DAN MENTIONED I LOST 2 TIRES ON MY DRIVE TO/FROM SARASOTA. I FOUND MY PSI TO RANGE FROM 40 TO 60PSI DEPENDING ON TEMP OUTSIDE. AS YOU PASS INTO WARMER/COLDER CLIMATES CHECK THE PSI ON YOUR STOPS...OR LIKE MYSELF EXPERIENCE THE FRIENDLY EMERGENCY ROADSIDE SERVICE PROVIDED BY THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA, GEORGIA ETC...THANX DR. DAN AND LIZ FOR BEING MY PIT CREW ON THE ROAD-TRIP. WE BOTH KNOW OUR 22'S CAN GO 90MPH....JUST ON LAND!!
