Are you looking strictly Donzi or anything interesting? What are thinking as far as size and type of power?

Seano,
Have you thought about Mr. Magoo's Classic that only needs an engine?

Yeah, I looked at it, but I think the price is a bit high considering the work it needs...

Please take a ride up to Maine and look at it in person! It doesn`t need much other than an engine.

Hello I am a new member. Happens I have a baby donzi a 1966 that has completely dissassembled. that had a 260 with an eaton drive. the transom has been redone to accomidate a mercruser and has a "I" drive gimble housing on it. Boat is original except fuel gage and tank lncludes factory windshield and interior.

Turbo, welcome to the board, where are you located in Michigan? Have you got any pictures of your Baby Donzi? They are quite rare, does anyone know of any others besides The Weavers' out east?

Sean,
Since you already have the rough water capability taken care of with your Cigarette, why not do something really fun and pick up a project tunnel hull outboard like and STV or a Mirage. 225Hp outboard can get you 100mph and some of those boats are so cool looking. Also, relatively inexpensive. Light weight, easy/cheap to trailer. Another alternative would be an Allison or a vintage Hydrostream. What do you think?

Sean,
I turned on the TV at 8:00pm last night to watch my usual Wednesday night Speedvision shows and some special was on about these diseased 1200hp JetSprint boats that I have never seen before in my life. Now this could be the project for you!

A little Video to view:

Thanks for the replies...and I didn't mean to offend Mr. Magoo, it's just a bit more thatn I would like to spend on a project boat.

Paul has hit the nail on the head...I would like to find a v-bottom pocket rocket to beat around on the weekends from time to time. Thanks for keeping your eyes open.

Looped...I like the deal you got on that boat(it's just what I am looking for) and those 1200hp sprint boats are over the top!

I turned it on just as a boat hit ground and flew up in the air and landed over the fence!

Sean,
I will try to find you something interesting. My 225 Merc will be around for awhile since I will not actively try to sell it until spring.

Turbo,
How many feet is you Baby? Is it 14? or 16?
Some people call the 16's a "Baby" The true "Baby" is the 14. Just wondering.

Thanks

Sean,
There was a 17' mahogany hydro with a glassed hull on e-bay for $2,500 with a 350 Chev, looked like a for real rig, ran mid 70's the seller said he bought in cheap and ran it for the summer and just wants to get his money back out, fun but not practial, or so he said
