Can someone explain to me what a carb spacer does for you.

They are used to increase velocity. Like a tunnel ram effect only on a smaller scale.I have also seen them made of different materials to ward off heat between the manifold and carb..

I believe the primary function of a thick spacer is to reduce heat transfer to the carb. Cool fuel supposedly atomizes better. Super-heated fuel can boil out of a hot carb following shut-down, creating starting problems. This is especially true with aluminum manifolds which run hotter than cast iron. Just remember if you have a manual choke that you'll have to make some linkage modifications too. In a Donzi you also have to be careful of the tight hatch clearance.

Depending on the style -open or closed 4 holed . the 4 holed(4barrel) incewases the low soeed trsponse and velosity. the opened on is for a higher speed and enlarged the pleum chamber and lets the air turn the corner betterinto thr intske. In s msrinr application the open one always works better
