Does not look like one I've ever seen.

I agree with Formula Jr. I guess if you are going to pretend you boat is something it is not, may as well go for the big dog and call it a Donzi.

The weird part is the recessed foredeck, and the 1971 year. If not for the recessed
deck, I'd call it a magnum, but no body had
dash setups like that in '71. I could say alot of boats, but you'll also notice that the
photo of the boat on the lift is stretched in the horizontal direction. There
isn't enough there for me to make a serious guess. It could be a Tahiti. Did Don EVER make a boat with a recessed foredeck?

Just sent the seller a query as to the background on the boat. It will be
interesting to see what is said. wink

The funny thing about an ebay guy with the Monza, is he answered my e-mail
like he had just discovered it was not a donzi. :D

Could it be that "Donzi" has become a generic term like "Cigarette Boat", or "Band Aid"???
As, I'm sure you're all aware, in the general public, anything that looks like a Cigarette gets described as a "Cigarette boat". In the '60's any electric bass guitar was described as a "Fender bass" no matter who made it.
Has the Donzi name reached such marketing success that it's now being used in the generic sesnse?

My Question to Seller:

"Dear Seller, does your title to this boat, actually state that it is a Donzi? I am very familiar with early Donzi models, but your boat is completely unique. Being a pre 73 boat, of course there is no imprint of a VIN on the transom. How do you know this boat to be a Donzi?

Thank You.

Frank S."

Seller's reply:

"The title states it is a 1971 Donzi. I went to school with Claudia Arronow
and am very familiar with the boats also.

John"
