What are the real differences between marine and automotive carburators? I know the float bowl vent tubes are bent around to point down into the throat and there is a port to attach the third hose from the fuel pump to handle the fuel from a ruptured diaphram.

Is there anything else???

Where is the third fuel pump hose actually ported to? Does it end up in one of the float bowls or just dump straight into the throat?

Actually marine carburetors are made to not leak fuel externally in case of flooding... the fuel pump line is for in the event of a ruptured diaphram... the fuel just pours through the hose into the carb... not the bowls but straight into the venturis.

on a marine carburetor, other than the J-tubes you have slabbed throttle shafts which channel fuel into the carb instead of outward... you have spring loaded needles and seats and generally some form of baffling... the calibrations will also be different due to the loading the boat motor sees vs an automotive motor... and then there's the BOAT factor... which of course just add's 50% automatically to the price...
