We pulled the shrink wrap off a Hustler yesterday that had a wild expensive paint job last year that was clear coated. Have you guessed Yup the clear coat had clouded very badly on the sun side of the boat. I believe the trapped dampness was driven into the clear coat. Well today I broke out my "Porter Cable Heat Gun" and cooked the moisture out after about three hours the paint looks like nothing ever happened. The trick is to run the gun very close to the surface followed by your hand that way you can feel if it is getting to hot. It should be almost uncomfortable, very important keep the gun moving once an area becomes pretty hot the cloudiness just disappears. I am pretty sure one of us will find the same problem when they un cover.
