Steering problem 22zx

I have a question for everyone about my steering system. It has been making a grinding noise while running and it feels loose in the helm. It also seems like the drive is shuttering while at idle speed. Any help would be app. It is the factory steering for a 99 22zx, I think it is hydralic.

Does it have internal hydraulic assist steering? Also, is it leaking fluid at the helm (where the steering wheel shaft goes into the dash)? Mine was leaking there and I had to replace the o-ring (actually square-ring?) in the steering assembly. Mine never grinded or shuttered though.
